Locums - Boise, Idaho - Cardiothoracic Surgery Opening (IMLC Accepted)Assignment Details
- Coverage Dates:
- July 10 - July 20
- August 1 - August 10
- September - Ongoing (10 shifts per month)
- Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM (24-hour coverage)
- EMR: Epic
- Hospital-based Cardiothoracic Surgery program
- Dedicated CVOR with 3 operating rooms
- 1 CT surgery-dedicated OR
- CVICU: 10-bed dedicated unit (prep & recovery)
- Step-down unit: 16 beds
- Team includes:
- 3 surgeons
- 7 APPs
- 4 perfusionists
- 4 PAs rotate to support surgeon in OR
- STS Registry participation with active quality benchmarking
- Annual volume: 400+ cardiac surgeries and 150+ thoracic surgeries
- Adult cardiac and thoracic surgery coverage
- TAVR & SAVR procedures
- 3 consults per day (approx.)
- 1-2 surgeries per day
- Required procedures include:
- CABG
- Heart valve repair/replacement
- Aortic dissection management
- General thoracic surgery
- Thoracotomy and lung resections/pneumonectomy
- Pericardial window
- Tube thoracostomy
- VA and VV ECMO placement
- MD or DO - Required
- Completion of ACGME/AOA CT fellowship - Required
- Board Certification (Surgery or Thoracic Surgery) or eligible within 3 years - Required
- Active Idaho license or IMLC - Required (IMLC Accepted)
- ACLS - Required
- DEA & controlled substance registration - Required
- Clean background and malpractice history - Required
- Must be available for all listed coverage blocks - Required
