• Hospitalist Responsibilities:
  • Provide OB/GYN coverage and assist in surgeries as needed
  • Backup support available from community OB/GYNs
  • OB/GYNs required for first assist in procedures
• Patient Volumes:
  • Monthly hospital deliveries: 125
  • Monthly deliveries: 7 (GYN only)
  • Average encounters: 69
  • High-risk diagnoses: 44.3% of encounters
  • GYN % of surgeries: 53.6%
• NICU Level: II - specialty
• MFM: Phone consults available
• Residency Program: Family Medicine
• Neonatal Coverage: 24/7
• EMR: Epic

Role Focus

• Primarily inpatient hospitalist coverage for OB/GYN patients
• Includes surgical assistance, emergent GYN coverage, and high-risk patient management
• High-risk OB encounters are common (?44% of patients)
• No circumcisions required by OB/GYNs
