Cardiology Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $8,980 - $9,620
• Location: Ronceverte, WV (Zip: 24970) - Greenbrier Valley; West Virginia cardiology job with easy access to hiking, biking, and river activities
• Contract Length: 6 months (June 1, 2026 - August 31, 2026)
• Shift: Day shifts, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Schedule: 24/7 call; 4-5 consults per day, 1-2 after-hours calls per day
• Support Staff: Medical Assistants and 1 RN
• Hospital Size: 122 beds
• EMR: Cerner

Locum Tenens Cardiology Requirements

• Board Certification in Cardiology (Board Certified Cardiologist preferred)
• Active West Virginia medical license or eligibility for IMLC/WV temporary license
• DEA license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• TEE certification
• Minimum 1 year of cardiology experience required
• Clinical skills: perform and interpret nuclear medicine stress tests, exercise stress tests, EKGs, echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)

Cardiology Physician Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation and management of new and established cardiology patients as the locum tenens cardiologist
• Conduct cardiac risk assessments and supervise diagnostic testing (EKGs, treadmill stress tests, nuclear stress testing, echoes, TEE)
• Perform Holter monitor placements and pacemaker checks
• Patient rounding, consultations, and outpatient clinic management
• Supervise and interpret special procedures including cardioversions
• Manage clinic volume: 20-25 patients per clinic day; testing supervision with 4-6 morning tests and 12-15 afternoon patients
• Respond to after-hours calls and provide emergency cardiac care as needed
• Collaborate with medical assistants, RNs, and hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care
