Overview:
A hospital-based opportunity is available for an OB/GYN Hospitalist to provide 24-hour in-house coverage focused on obstetric emergency care. This role involves managing OBED patients, performing deliveries, and supporting emergent cases in a high-volume setting.

Compensation:

$5000/day inclusive of all hours

Schedule:

24-hour in-house call (call rooms available)

Practice Details:

Setting: Inpatient (OB Emergency Department)
EMR: Epic
No gynecology responsibilities
Maternal-Fetal Medicine support available on call
Residents present (no supervisory responsibility)
Dedicated OBED with 8 beds
Access to full hospital resources including imaging, lab, and pharmacy

Patient Volume:

Approximately 1,300+ OBED visits annually
460 deliveries per year

Responsibilities:

Manage OBED patients and triage obstetric emergencies
Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
Care for patients without a primary OB/GYN
Support maternal transport cases

Requirements:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN Required
Active Iowa License or IMLC Required
Clean malpractice/background Required
NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) Required
Must specify availability for listed dates at time of submission Required
Must be non-local to the Des Moines area Required

Credentialing:

Must be able to obtain privileges prior to start
