Job Description
Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time heavy equipment Field Technician for the Central Mass area (Worcester, Leominster, Fitchburg) to report out of our Concord, NH location. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in their work. We are an energetic group that sells JCB, Avant, Toro and Vibroscreen.

Compensation range: $37.00–$43.00/hour. This range is regarding base pay only and does not include benefits and potential bonuses. Overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographical location, skillset, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

Complete inspections

Power wash and clean parts

Remove and install parts

Implement optional accessories

Perform maintenance

On the road doing basic diagnosis and troubleshooting

Test equipment

Perform general repairs on the road

Drive company truck to different customers’ locations

Maintain service truck

Manage inventory of onboard parts

Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities

Perform other duties as assigned

Ensure consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

Qualifications
Three years of previous heavy equipment or OTR repair experience is required.

Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of the following systems: engine, power train, hydraulics and electrical.

Possess your own tools.

A positive attitude and high energy.

Computer proficiency: Microsoft Outlook, Volvo VCADS.

Language skills – intermediate ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Mathematical skills – basic ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning ability – intermediate ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands; Frequently will talk/hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl ; Occasionally will sit.

Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 25 pounds; Frequently will lift 26 to 50 pounds; Occasionally will lift from 51 to 100 plus pounds.

Work Environment: Regularly will work near moving mechanical parts; Frequently will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, under extreme heat or cold; Occasionally will work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, vibration.
