
Live Turkey Farm Manager (Breeder Operations)

We are seeking a highly motivated, mid-level, experienced Live Turkey Farm Manager to lead one of our breeder operations farms. This role oversees the daily care, health, and well‑being of the flocks, managing both hens and toms to ensure optimal production, livability, and animal welfare. The ideal candidate will combine hands‑on husbandry skills with strong leadership to teach, coach, train, and manage agricultural workers while maintaining strict biosecurity and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Flock Care & Husbandry:
Must demonstrate and be accountable for managing all aspects of live production, including brooding, rearing, and breeder management for 3 houses of hens and 2 houses of toms.
Health & Welfare:
Must demonstrate determination to achieve the utmost overall bird health by consistently monitoring daily habits, vaccination scheduling, and ensuring birds have constant access to their feed and water.
Environment Control:
Always checking and monitoring the climate/temperature levels, including ventilation, fans, and heaters, which are critical factors to maintain optimal barn conditions for every season.
Team Leadership:
Teach, train, coach, and supervise all farm workers with the goal of setting them up for success to be the best, and hold them accountable for their jobs.
Biosecurity & Safety:
Daily enforce the company's biosecurity policies and animal welfare practices to prevent/minimize disease and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in poultry production, ideally with a focus on turkey breeder operations. (deal breaker)
Technical Knowledge:
Measuring feed for each bin to determine how much to order on a weekly basis; analyzing situations, thinking, and problem‑solving to bring a perfect resolution.
Leadership:
Proven ability to lead a diverse team well and to effectively communicate with them individually/group meetings, Service Technician, Division Breeder Manager, Veterinarian, etc.
Soft Skills:
Ability to manage your emotions and the ability to understand the emotions of others, effective communication to convey expectations, build trust, and provide clear and concise feedback, the capacity to thrive in changing environments, and embrace new ideas, recognizing the employees' needs and understanding how your leadership decisions will affect their morale; prioritizing tasks, etc..
