Nox Metals is a technology company in Detroit supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.

You Will:

Run day-to-day procurement execution, POs, confirmations, expedites, change orders

Build and maintain real relationships with mill reps, distributors, and supplier contacts, they should know your name, take your call, and want to help you win

Place purchase orders with mills, distributors, and suppliers and confirm every detail

Track every open PO, every mill schedule, every promised ship date, never let one slip

Expedite material when customer commitments depend on it, work the phones until you get a yes

Capture and structure every piece of supplier data we touch, prices, lead times, mill schedules, capacity signals, market chatter

Build and maintain clean datasets that feed our procurement intelligence and inventory models

Run pricing comparisons, lead time analyses, and supplier scorecards

Verify inbound material against POs, certs against specs, every detail right

Maintain supplier records, contact lists, pricing files, and material master data

Coordinate with shipping, receiving, and the floor on inbound dock times

Chase damage claims, shortages, and supplier quality issues until they are resolved

Learn from the Supply Chain Engineer and the Director of Supply Chain, this is a role to grow into bigger ownership fast

Always ask questions, never guess when something is unclear

Look at every process and figure out how to make it better

Work safely every shift and hold your teammates to the same standard

You Should Be:

1 to 2 years of supply chain, procurement, expediting, customer service, or operations experience in a fast‑moving environment

Strong relationship builder, you turn cold supplier contacts into people who go to bat for you

Comfortable on the phone, on email, and in supplier portals all day, every day

Heavy on data, you live in spreadsheets, dashboards, and supplier records, and you keep them clean

Cracked with AI tools, spreadsheets, and modern software, you do not click through 200 line items when a formula will do it

Sharp with numbers and detail oriented, every PO, every cert, every line right the first time

Hungry, you want to grow into a Supply Chain Engineer or bigger role, and you are willing to outwork everyone to get there

High attention to quality

Always thinking about how to make processes better, you do not accept "this is how we have always done it"

Absolutely customer obsessed, delivery timelines matter because customers are counting on them

A team player with a good attitude, you make the company better for everyone around you

Someone who takes ownership, if it is your PO or your supplier, it is your responsibility

Precise under pressure and reliable, suppliers and customers count on the dates you commit to

Organized enough to juggle dozens of open POs and supplier conversations without dropping one

High agency, you handle big items alone and ask for help when needed

Low ego, you do the unglamorous work because it needs to get done

Committed to safety, you follow every protocol, wear your PPE, and never cut corners that put people at risk

Not afraid to work outside normal hours when America demands it

Never says "that's not my job"

Nice to Have:

Experience in metals, aluminum, or aerospace/defense supply chains

Background in expediting, buying, or supplier-facing roles

Track record building or maintaining supplier datasets, scorecards, or pricing files

Forklift and/or overhead crane certification

Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter

This role is full time, in person in Detroit. Reports to the Director of Supply Chain.
