Job Overview

As directed, the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored material, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing for shipment. The incumbent may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehouse duties.
Pay Rate: $34.06
Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties

Maintain a hazardous material inventory in accordance with customer and company regulations.
Removes material from storage and issues to work documents as required. This task involves processing documentation in an automated inventory system, obtaining all pertinent information from requestor and routing hard copy documentation to the appropriate department.
Assists shop personnel in obtaining the correct inventory stock number(s) and validating shop material requisition requests prior to submission for purchasing action.
Perform stock inventories and prepare material requisitions for replacement items as required.
Will be required to perform various lower classified duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering as required.
Match specific item identification data such as nomenclature, stock or part number, letter and number codes, quantity and units of issue on containers and stock locations with those on receiving reports and various other forms.
Palletizing, stacking and placing and arranging items in storage locations in consideration of their size, shape, weight, quantity, type, stock number, letter
umber codes, and other storage factors.
Operate company and customer vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
Adheres to all established company safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
Ability to work overtime as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Mandatory

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
At least two (2) years of work experience in a warehouse environment encompassing traditional warehousing and material movement methodologies, i.e. receiving, storage, issue, shipping, material handling and distribution.
Demonstrate working experience in Microsoft Excel or computer warehouse management system.
Ability to obtain forklift operator certification.
Demonstrate experience using material handling equipment.
Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred

Possess the required security clearance.
Forklift Operator Certification.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and 75 pounds in a team lift.
