ABOUT THE ROLE
The GSW Substation General Foreman is responsible for the supervision, scheduling and coordination of all electrical substation field installation crews.

Essential Functions
Manage and schedule multiple field crews and projects.
Responsible for training and development of field crew and foreman.
Build and maintain relationships with the customer, inspectors and other trades.
Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve any conflicts.
Work closely with foremen and field crews to ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards.
Manage material and personnel requirements necessary to meet the project schedule and provide best course of action for construction methods.
Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures as well as safety program requirements and construction practices.
May hold daily, weekly and/or monthly safety meetings.
Document all violations, provide appropriate notification and recommend and/or implement correction actions as required.
Responsible for efficient use of materials and equipment.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location.
Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in the electrical trades, Journeyman Electrician level or higher is required
Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead role within the electrical field required
Must have experience in all aspects of low voltage to medium voltage commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
Experience working in field substation projects both brownfield and greenfield
Preferred Education
High school diploma or GED
Completion of Substation Electrician Apprenticeship
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to manage multiple field installation crews
Strong understanding of electrical installations standards and codes as well as construction practices used for electrical construction
Proficient in the development and implementation of company and contract procedures to include safety, compliance, and documentation of a project
Certified in CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10
Thorough knowledge of reading and interpreting plans, specifications and contract documents
Proficiency with MS Project and MS Suite such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to travel as needed
Strong work ethic, good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Salary
Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
