Business Development Specialist

Position Summary:
Do you have 3 or more years of business development or marketing experience in a professional services environment? Are you ready to take the next step as a proactive thinker, researching projects, drafting pitches and proposals, and creating marketing content? The Business Development Specialist will support attorneys and practice groups with business development and marketing efforts, including pitch and proposal preparation, content repurposing across marketing collateral, website, attorney biographies, and other platforms. The role involves providing competitive intelligence, maintaining pipeline data, assisting with training preparation, supporting conference participation, and tracking business development metrics.
Essential Functions

Supports business development managers in the pitch and proposal process, working with attorneys and other firm personnel to develop and execute proposals and presentations.
Assists with RFP/RFQ responses, including document assembly, proofreading, coordinating attorney input, and deadline tracking.
Acts as liaison between the business development team and the marketing communications team to repurpose proposal content across marketing collateral, practice group tear sheets, the firm website, and attorney biographies.
Conducts company and industry research, fulfills competitive intelligence requests, and helps create customized news alerts for attorneys.
Populates, monitors, and tracks firm pipeline data; assists with monitoring action items and reporting progress to managers and director.
Utilizes firm CRM and other platforms to run queries and pull data on relationships and client interactions.
Attends attorney and lateral partner discovery and coaching conversations to capture action items and assist with follow‑up.
Helps plan and execute internal business development training programs, coordinating logistics, scheduling, and materials.
Maintains and updates business development collateral pieces for accuracy and availability.
Assists with input of experience matters into the experience manager database and onto the appropriate proposal and collateral pieces.
Coordinates preparation and distribution of collateral materials for conferences, events, and individual requests.
Works directly with attorneys to optimize use of LinkedIn and other social media platforms for business development.
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field.
• Three to five years of experience in business development or marketing roles, ideally within professional services such as legal, accounting, or finance.
• Working knowledge of client relationship management software preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Exceptional interpersonal attitude to meet the needs of internal and external clients.
Salary range: $79,000 to $89,000.
