Tool Room Inventory Specialist (Machinist Support)

Are you a detail-oriented professional who knows their way around a machine shop? We are looking for a Tool Room Inventory Specialist to serve as the backbone of our machining operations.
In this role, you won’t just be counting parts; you’ll be the gatekeeper of precision. You’ll ensure our machinists have exactly what they need—from carbide inserts to custom jigs—to keep our spindles turning and our production on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Track, organize, and manage a vast inventory of cutting tools, holders, abrasives, and precision measuring instruments.
Technical Support: Identify and kit tooling for specific jobs based on blueprints or setup sheets.
Procurement: Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase orders for consumables to ensure zero downtime.
Tool Maintenance: Inspect returning tools for wear or damage; coordinate sharpening services or replacements as needed.
Database Accuracy: Maintain our inventory management system (ERP/MRP) with real-time data entry.
Organization: Maintain a 5S standard within the tool room, ensuring every item has a labeled home.
Qualifications & Skills
Machining Knowledge: Know the difference between a ball nose end mill and a reamer. Familiarity with brands like Sandvik, Kennametal, or Iscar is a major plus.
Technical Literacy: Ability to read shop prints and understand basic machining tolerances.
Software Proficiency: Experience with inventory software, Tool Crib management systems, or Microsoft Excel.
Attention to Detail: Notice when a .005" shim is missing from its drawer.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active on the shop floor throughout the shift.
Salary: $17.5 - $18 per hour. Shift: Third. Work hours: 10:30 PM - 7 AM. Education: No Degree Required.

Work in a non-temperature controlled environment.
