Quality Lab Supervisor

Dynamic, fast‑growing organization is seeking a Quality Supervisor to join its Quality Assurance Team. The role is responsible for overseeing the quality and safety of products produced within a food manufacturing facility, managing the daily operations of the QA Laboratory and supervising a team of lab technicians across various shifts.

Must have experience working in food manufacturing. This is a permanent opportunity with salary of $75,000 – $77,000 per year. First shift hours (7 AM – 3:30 PM) are required, but the supervisor must be flexible in managing 3 shifts and adjusting to business needs as required.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the daily activities of the QA laboratory, ensuring efficient and accurate testing processes and allocation of resources.

Ensure adherence to testing protocols, SOPs, and safety guidelines.

Train and supervise a team of technicians on new testing methods and procedures.

Serve as a backup Quality Technician when needed.

Implement and enforce QA standards and best practices to guarantee consistent product quality.

Monitor and analyze lab test results to identify trends, deviations, and potential quality issues.

Collaborate with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure adherence to food safety regulations and industry standards.

Assist in food safety and consumer complaint investigations and follow‑ups, including RC and CAPA when needed.

Oversee a wide range of tests, including microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory evaluations of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.

Review and interpret test data, ensuring accuracy and reliability, and make informed decisions based on results.

Manage ingredients and finished‑product testing for internal and external manufacturing plants per sampling plan to ensure product specifications are met.

Ensure compliance with FDA, New York State and other regulatory requirements to assure food safety and quality.

At least 4 years of relevant experience.

Experience level: Experienced.

Bachelor’s degree required.
