
Pipe General Foreman

Job Summary
IMI is seeking a full‑time experienced Piping General Foreman local to the Winder, GA area.
Essential Functions
Supervise and direct piping crews, including fitters, welders, and helpers.
Plan and coordinate daily/weekly work activities to meet project schedules and priorities.
Read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, spool sheets, and other construction drawings.
Ensure all work meets safety standards, company requirements, and customer specifications.
Communicate effectively with the Project Manager regarding manpower needs, progress delays, and material/equipment requirements.
Coordinate with other trades, QC, safety staff, and customer representatives.
Troubleshoot field issues and resolve conflicts to keep work moving.
Maintain productivity, monitor crew performance, and uphold quality standards.
Conduct job hazard analysis, toolbox talks, and enforce site safety protocols.
Review completed work for accuracy prior to inspections.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 5+ years of experience in piping installation, with at least 2 years in a Foreman or lead role is preferred.
Strong understanding of industrial piping methods, welding processes, supports, and installation sequence.
Ability to read and interpret piping drawings and technical documents.
Proven leadership skills and ability to manage diverse crews.
Ability to work in fast‑paced industrial environments.
Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Effective communication and organizational abilities.
Knowledge of fabrication, fit‑up requirements, and tolerances is preferred.
Computer experience, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
Stand or walk for long periods of time.
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects.
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Manual dexterity needed for repetitive tasks and operating standard office equipment.
Willingness to travel overnight up to 5-10% of the time.
