Business Development Representative – Sales Intern
Summary
The Business Development Representative (Sales Intern) will be responsible for running live outreach, speaking with real prospects, and contributing directly to the organization’s revenue pipeline. It is a hands‑on, high‑activity role supporting new business development effort under the guidance of the Sales Team. This role is a part‑time temporary summer internship lasting up to 12 weeks after the start date.

Responsibilities
For the duration of the internship, this position will own all top‑of‑funnel new business development activity working directly with Lief’s sales team. This includes:

Work from Lief’s identified prospect lists and build your own, targeting emerging and established supplement brands considering a contract manufacturer switch

Execute structured, multi‑channel outreach following a defined process and cadence: cold email, LinkedIn, phone, and social media

Conduct introductory calls and virtual meetings with prospective leads

Qualify leads against Lief’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and hand off Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) to the AE team in normal rotation, with complete notes

Log all activity, conversations, and outcomes daily in Go High Level (CRM) and Teridot

Maintain and update prospect data in Excel via Lief’s SharePoint environment

Attend the sales team meeting each week, and other tentative meetings

Submit a structured weekly activity and performance report on a weekly basis (each Friday)

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program, ideally in business, marketing, communications, or a related field

Experience

Prior industry sales, customer service, or outreach experience is preferred

Confident, professional communicator who is comfortable making cold calls and sending outbound emails without hesitation

Self‑starter who can work independently, stay organized, and hit activity targets without being managed hour to hour

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning CRM platforms (Go High Level)

Genuine interest in sales, business development, or the supplement/CPG/health industry is a strong plus

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to talk, hear and grasp items. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

The employee requires to push, lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The work area must be clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Field conditions vary.

Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy).

Additional Information
The Salary Range for this position at Lief Labs is $18.50 - 20.00 per hour (USD). Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, skills, and education.
