Are you a strategic leader who believes that world‑class maintenance is the backbone of a successful plant? We are looking for a Maintenance Senior Manager to lead our maintenance and reliability efforts in Wilmington, MA. In this role, you won't just be "fixing machines" – you will be a cultural architect, leading a high‑performing team to eliminate losses, drive food safety excellence, and implement advanced reliability strategies in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
The mission is to be responsible for the reliability, maintainability, and availability of all plant production resources, transitioning the facility from reactive troubleshooting to a proactive, data‑driven reliability model.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Coaching: Direct and mentor a team including the Facilities Engineer, Maintenance & Reliability Manager, MRO Buyer, and Planner.
Asset Reliability: Design and monitor a comprehensive plan including predictive maintenance (PdM), spare parts optimization, and full CMMS integration.
Strategic Growth: Lead TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and PM pillar implementations to drive out chronic losses.
Capital Projects: Identify and manage capital needs from inception to completion, including budgeting, vendor management, and onsite safety.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with USDA, SQF, and EHS standards, prioritizing people and food safety above all else.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide hands‑on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair, acting as the final point of escalation for complex equipment failures.
Lead, coach, and direct a team of 5+ mechanics, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Design and oversee a comprehensive PM program to minimize unplanned downtime and extend asset life cycles.
Maximize the use of CMMs.
Oversee electronic maintenance, mechanical maintenance, blueprints, and electrical tasks.
Oversee accounting functions related to maintenance operations.
Qualifications
Educational Background: B.S. in Engineering.
Experience: 5+ years in food manufacturing or CPG with a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
Leadership: 7+ years of experience leading teams of 5 or more individuals.
Technical Toolkit: Expert-level knowledge of CMMS, ERP systems, and failure analysis techniques (FMEA).
Continuous Improvement: Experience leading TPM, AM, or PM pillars. Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is a major plus.
Certifications: CMRP, CRL, or ARP certifications are highly preferred.
Employment Details
Pay: $110,000 - $160,000 per year
Shift: First
Work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
