Therapists at PPCH provide individual, family, and group therapy; therapeutic supervised visitation; evaluations; assessments; case management; and ongoing support to ensure the self‑worth, health, safety, and welfare of individuals receiving services. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent documentation skills, and adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and PPCH policies.

Compensation and Hours

This is an hourly position.

Weekly hours are dependent on caseload size and will increase as the caseload grows.

Each client case is assigned an approved number of service hours per week, which determines the therapist’s billable and scheduled hours.

Additional hours may be available based on agency needs, client acuity, and therapist availability.

Provide therapeutic mental health and counseling services to adults, adolescents, and children with intellectual or developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, behavioral challenges, or other diagnoses in homes, community settings, or PPCH offices.

Maintain a caseload, including regular communication with clients and caregivers and scheduling appointments.

Conduct evaluations, assessments, therapeutic interventions, and case management services.

Assist with treatment planning, discharge planning, and follow‑up care.

Prepare reports, behavioral plans, and other required documentation.

Build and maintain accurate case files and clinical records.

Support individuals in accessing and participating in community activities aligned with their interests, behavioral plans, and ISSPs.

Model respectful, therapeutic support tailored to each individual’s needs and behavioral plan.

Encourage independent decision‑making and self‑advocacy.

Utilize internal and external resources to support additional services or interventions.

Ensure compliance with State, Federal, and PPCH policies, procedures, and regulations.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related human services field.

Minimum of three years of professional clinical experience.

Training or education in trauma‑informed therapies strongly preferred.

Knowledge of community health care, residential services, and vocational services preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective listening with individuals who may use non‑traditional communication methods.

Ability to manage and maintain a clinical caseload.

Ability to schedule and conduct sessions in PPCH offices, community locations, or client homes.

Ability to respectfully address significant health and safety concerns while supporting individual choice.

Understanding of legal and ethical considerations related to client rights.

Ability to administer, interpret, and evaluate psychological assessments.

Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Ability to give and receive constructive feedback with clients, families, colleagues, and leadership.

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet PPCH driving and insurance requirements.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Therapy sessions and visits occur in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and surrounding areas.

Sessions may take place in client homes, community settings, or PPCH offices, including the PPCH Pueblo office at 323 South Union.

Occasional after‑hours response may be required for emergency situations; this is not a crisis‑based or 24/7 on‑call position.

Regular driving throughout Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and the I‑25 corridor is required.

Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 15 lbs.

May require physically assisting individuals, including pushing or pulling wheelchairs.
