We are seeking a Clinical Research Supervisor to join the Para-START research team, working in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment that supports people with severe impairments or high support needs through evidence-based Para sport programs. This role plays a pivotal part in the management, design and operation of clinical research and client programs, translating rigorous research into meaningful outcomes for participants, partners and the broader community. The work aligns with UQ’s commitment to inclusive impact and research excellence, with recent UQ research highlighting the importance of sport, identity and recognition in high-performance and Para sport contexts.**Key responsibilities will include:**
• Preparing and developing research project documentation, including ethics and governance submissions, study protocols, case report forms and presentations
• Monitoring participant progress and providing clear written and verbal reports to key stakeholders on research activities and outcomes
• Supervising and mentoring junior research staff and contributing to a positive, high-performing research culture
• Supporting clinical trial operations, including participant recruitment, data collection, safety monitoring and stakeholder communicationThis is a full-time(100%), fixed-term position for up to 1 year at HEW Level 7.**About You**
You will bring a strong blend of clinical expertise, research capability and leadership, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a complex research environment.You will have:
• A degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology with at least six (6) years’ subsequent relevant experience working with people with severe impairments and high support needs in a Para sport context
• Detailed knowledge of classification processes and Para sport pathways from grassroots through to national-level competition
• Demonstrated experience in clinical research management, including ethics compliance, data analysis and reporting
• Extensive experience supervising students or junior staff, and delivering tutorials or training in adapted physical activity
• Financial literacy with a strong record of budget management and cost recovery, ideally within a higher education or research setting
• Knowledge of NDIS plan development and current funding codes relevant to sport, therapy, community access and capacity building
• Well-developed communication and writing skills, with the ability to draft, proof and edit research protocols and reports
• A proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain strict confidentialityYou must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
