Nurse Aide Trainee (26141062)
This position provides training for staff to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). A CNA provides personal care to male and female residents with mental health disorders. The responsibilities include assisting residents with basic hygiene such as bathing, oral hygiene, and dressing; performing health‑related tasks such as taking and recording vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting in emergency situations; and transporting residents to appointments and assisting as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Two years of job‑related experience working with people in a healthcare setting or group home.

Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, pushing, pulling, twisting. Ability to handle residents who may be verbally or physically aggressive.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Communicate information orally and in writing.

Observe and record information accurately.

Follow oral and written instruction explicitly.

Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others that can be maintained over time.

Basic knowledge of personal hygiene.

Training Schedule and Compensation
3½‑week class schedule from June 1 through June 24, requiring homework and class participation and reading three chapters before the first class. Probationary period ends on December 1, 2026. Upon successful completion of the course and the CNA exam, wages increase to $25.13 per hour.

Salary
Hourly: $21.55 (after 6‑month probationary period).

Shift and Location
Day shift, full‑time. Primary location: Lewistown. Travel required: approximately 5% of the time.

Employment Commitment
Employees who successfully complete the CNA course must be employed with MMHNCC for a minimum of 180 days. Resignation prior to 180 days requires reimbursement of the CNA class and exam cost ($1,000).
