
Imaging Services Reading Room Coordinator - Diagnostic Radiology - Per Diem 8 Ho

The Imaging Services Reading Room Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the assigned area; this includes answering phones, triage calls for the Radiologists, placing outbound calls on behalf of the Radiologists, facilitating requests for changes to orders received from the Radiologist back to the ordering physician or scheduling department, expediting physician-to-physician communication, enhancing patient safety and flow by assisting the Radiologist in managing patient information and priority, utilizing a variety of communication tools and technology systems, providing excellent customer service, and performing other tasks as assigned. With limited supervision, will perform ancillary tasks that allow Radiologists to focus on their primary clinical functions.
Reporting to the clinic manager, the clinic assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities within the Otolaryngology, head & neck surgery clinic. This role performs administrative functions for the clinic, transports equipment needed for clinic procedures, ensures proper storage of these items, uploads images into appropriate applications, supports front desk functions, and handles referral management processes, including faxes and sending/receiving referrals in appropriate applications.
Essential Duties
Functions as a physician liaison to support the efficient and timely reporting of all reading room functions of the assigned area, focused on monitoring the diagnostic worklists and distributing urgent exams to the Radiologists for interpretation.
Answers and triages calls to the Radiologists and places outbound calls on behalf of the Radiologists.
Ensures sensitive information is delivered timely, reviewed by the appropriate modality physician, and reports delivered to the correct referring physician.
Expedites physician-to-physician communication, enhances patient safety and flow by assisting the Radiologist in managing patient information and priority.
Utilizes a variety of communication tools/technology systems to minimize delays and increase efficiency.
Supports on-call Radiologists with system troubleshooting, problem-solving, and assists supervisor with implementation of ongoing workflow and performance improvements.
With limited supervision, performs ancillary tasks that allow Radiologists to focus on their primary clinical functions.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
1 year customer service experience in a related field.
Displays behaviors conducive to excellent customer service.
Exceptional communication skills – the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently.
Computer literacy.
Required Licenses/Certifications
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and renewals must be maintained before the expiration date. (Required within LA City only.)
The hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $39.69.
