General Summary
The First Assistant Golf Professional is the direct support person for the Director of Golf and may serve in the Director capacity during his/her absence. Also, responsible for promoting the game of golf at the Journey by providing excellent service to all guests of the property.
Four Diamond Service Agreement
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino.
Key Responsibilities
In conjunction with the Director of Golf, oversees the daily operations of the golf shop, golf course situations, and provides excellent and timely service.
Responsible for reporting, safeguarding, balancing bank and daily revenue generated by the golf shop in accordance with the applicable procedures and policies to include team member’s tips.
Scheduling of tee times and use of the point of sales register system.
Develop a strong partnership and relationship with vital strategic partners and community to increase
Oversees golf professionals
Scheduling for the golf team members
Handle all special requests from guests
Inputs inventory into proper categories
Prepare details for golf outings (Hotel & Charity)
Provides orders for equipment inventory in the golf shop
Provides professional instruction to our guests as requested.
Other duties as assigned
The First Assistant Golf Professional has authority to make valuable suggestions or recommendations as to departmental hiring, corrective action, terminations, and team member relation issues.
Experience/Training/Education
A High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least three years relative experience is preferred to successfully perform this job.
Communication Skills
This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Furthermore, this position also requires the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. This position also requires the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability
This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position also requires the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid CA Drivers License
Apprentice or Member in the PGA
Skills/Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to learn Front Tee, Open Course and Opera Systems programs.
Inventory computer procedures
Other Qualifications
Knowledge in the proper techniques of the golf swing
