Assistant Pensions Manager (Master Trust) - London
Mercer is seeking an Assistant Pensions Manager to join our market leading Master Trust team in London. The successful candidate will be accountable for managing the internal controls framework to ensure authorisation is maintained. This role plays a key part in the relationship with the Regulator through the supervisory regime and ensuring the Master Trust remains compliant with overriding legislation at all times. The Assistant Pensions Manager is a leadership role which drives the product forward through transformation and operational excellence.
We will count on you for:
Working closely with various Stakeholders, including the Pensions Manager, Trustees, their professional advisers, Participating employers, the Pensions Regulator and the Strategist Group.
Liaising with the Pensions Regulator in relation to Supervision on behalf of the Trustees and Strategist/Founder.
Ensuring ongoing compliance with the Pensions Act 2017, under the supervision regime for authorised master trusts, including regular reporting and significant event reporting for the Pensions Regulator.
Preparation of papers and attendance at Trustee and Strategist Meetings.
Ensuring the Trustees are abreast of relevant legislation updates.
Operational oversight including SLA management, contributions, complaints monitoring and error escalations/resolution.
Liaison with new clients, legal advisers, the Trustees and Strategist/Founder in respect of on-boarding and Deeds/Legal documents.
Liaison with the Trustees/Founders professional advisers on various matters where advice/professional services are required.
Assisting the Secretary of Trustees in all matters regarding the Master Trust where appropriate.
Oversight of the completion of the annual audit and Trustee Report and Accounts.
Oversight, formulation and completion of the annual Master Trust Assurance Framework (MAF) under ICAEW TECH 05/20 AAF (previously TECH 02/07 AAF).
Assisting with the completion of the annual Annual Chair's Statement and Value for Members Assessment.
Completion and submission of ONS Surveys, Accounting for Tax (AFT), Scheme Returns to the Pensions Regulator and Event Reporting to HMRC.
What you need to have:
Detailed DC pensions knowledge with a deep understanding of the Pensions Act 2017 and DC Code.
Able to balance competing priorities using an agile approach, embracing and driving change.
Strong stakeholder management.
Understanding of Mercer policies and procedures (or a willingness to learn).
