Job Description
Seaman High School has an opening for an Assistant Girls Wrestling Coach for the 2026-27 school year.

This assistant position is responsible for teaching the sport of wrestling and the fundamental & advanced techniques necessary to prepare athletes for competition. Candidate should be highly motivated and encourage athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport of wrestling. The wrestling season will be from Nov '26 to March '27. Candidate must have coaching experience and/or have competed in wrestling.

Essential Duties

Instructs athletes during practices, matches & competitions.

Assists in organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages students to participate.

Assesses skill-level and assists in determining the level of competition for athletes.

Helps develop a practice schedule to provide both individual and team development.

Assists the head coach and athletic director in scheduling facilities for practice & competition.

Provides education regarding hydration, training, diet, etc. regarding weight management.

Provides athletes knowledge of the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.

Observes athletes daily to determine individual a team and individual improvement.

Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior and provides supervision.

Helps monitor the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility.

Follows procedures with our athletic trainer in the event of an injury.

Assists in conferences with the athlete, parents/guardians regarding student performance.

Follows KSHSAA regulations governing the program and athletic department.

Models sportsmanship and appropriate conduct towards athletes, officials and spectators.

Follows established procedures for equipment, uniforms and school facilities.

Participates in special events to include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, etc.

Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities related to Seaman USD#345.
