Position Summary
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in chemistry.

Essential Job Functions / Duties and Responsibilities

Perform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.

Teach chemistry courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location; other instructional delivery modes such as online, hybrid, or web-enhanced may be assigned based on operational needs.

Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences.

Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students.

Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class.

Regularly check Nashville State email and departmental mailbox and respond to emails/messages within 48 hours (except on weekends).

Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by required deadlines.

Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities.

Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences.

Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.

Work with students as an academic advisor as assigned.

Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Chemistry (or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry).

Collegiate level teaching experience.

Demonstrated commitment to equity and accessibility.

Ability to teach organic chemistry.

Demonstrated commitment to student success.

Willingness to teach on multiple campuses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant instructional technologies.

Rate of Pay
$41,708.00 to $52,135.00 annually, depending on experience
