Per diem positions at Littleton Regional Healthcare are eligible for a per diem incentive, which is determined by the level of commitment you select. This means the more shifts you commit to in advance, the greater the financial incentive you may receive. Under the supervision of a radiologist and the direction of the Clinical Supervisors, this position competently performs ultrasound imaging. Must have ability to recognize imaging anatomy. Responsible for providing customer service excellence and complying with hospital and department policies and procedures. Uses RIS for proper recording of patient procedures and dissemination of patient results.
Able to use all equipment in ultrasound to produce high quality studies for radiologist interpretation
Establishes proper exam criteria and parameters for each procedure
Assists radiologist/physician in invasive procedures; prepares specimens for laboratory analysis
Analysis of the captured images, documenting variations between healthy and imperfect areas including in the report to be forwarded to the radiologist
Ensuring the images produced by the equipment are clear for diagnosis, and making adjustments of the equipment to get better images
Communicating effectively with the patient and maintaining his/her comfort level during the examination
Completes patient exams with quality and timeliness
Adheres to sterile technique in procedures requiring sterile set-up
Performs necessary paperwork, record keeping, scheduling, charging of patients and any other clerical duties as assigned by supervisors
Able to transport patients; able to move or help patients onto imaging tables/beds and/or with proper positioning
Satisfies organization’s annual competencies
Assists in the development of other staff members
Conducts self in a professional manner and practices service excellence
Responsible for the care and cleaning of ultrasound equipment and re-stocking of supplies in ultrasound exam rooms
Responsible for the aseptic care of all equipment before and following each patient procedure
Adheres to all policies and procedures of DIS and Littleton Regional Healthcare
Performs all routine ultrasound examinations competently. Must have good organizational skills and prioritizing skills.
Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.
Must be able to follow directions and operate competently during stressful situations
Must be able to produce quality work in a reasonable time frame
Qualifications
Registered Vascular certification required; within two years if new grad
Must obtain 24 ECE credits, in a two year period for re-certification; must maintain NH license; ARDMS (or equivalent) registration in general and vascular sonography
Knowledge and ability to provide care based on physical and psychosocial development and safety issues related to patients of all age groups including infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
CPR certified
Performs other duties as requested by the DIS management team
