Job Summary
In addition to the staff nurse role, the Clinical Coordinator assumes shift responsibilities for the care delivery team. Responsibilities include:
Function as lead and resource person for nursing personnel; act as clinical resource and assist the clinical manager in planning staff meetings and development.
Collaborate with manager to monitor schedules and ensure adequate nurse‑patient ratios.
Facilitate shared decision‑making among staff and improve unit throughput to reduce length of stay.
Coordinate in‑service programs to maintain or enhance staff competence.
Assist with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.
Participate in development of departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
Assist with department Process Improvement and Peer Review.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree/Diploma required; BSN preferred.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
One to two years of progressively responsible experience with evidence of increasing leadership abilities.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate and facilitate processes.
Minimum Level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria; internal candidates preferred.
BLS required, ACLS preferred.
