JOB OVERVIEW
MartinFed has an opening for an RF Engineer to join our Defensive Threat Systems Modeling and Simulation (M&S) team supporting the warfighter and prominent acquisition and intelligence programs within the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC). The candidate will be part of a team performing modeling and simulation of defensive weapon systems of peer
ear-peer adversaries. The principal focus will be on surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems comprising RF sensors; target acquisition and tracking; 6-DOF missile flyout, command, and seeker endgame; network-centric warfare techniques; command-and-control (C2/C4); and advanced RF techniques.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Participating in the design, development, test, and maintenance of software models simulating and/or emulating real-world, adversarial (threat) Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) Systems within the TMAP STIMS 2.0 NOVA, STIMS 3.0 and/or LIVE modeling frameworks.
Engineering analysis of real-life threat weapon systems supplementing all available all-source intelligence assessments informing software model lifecycle including development, maintenance, and study support.
Understanding, refinement, communication, and tracking of software model requirements.
Deep understanding of real-world threat weapon system characteristics, capabilities, and limitations and the digital twin that represents that system.
Developing software using MATLAB/SIMULINK, C/C++, and/or Python.
Leading technical discussions to assist in near- and long-term planning.
Working closely with the customer to understand and deliver quality products that accomplish the mission.
Understanding and/or developing engineering designs supplied by the customer and working with a team to develop software models that represent the weapon system at the fidelity necessary to meet customer goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
US Citizen
DoD Secret clearance required and willing/able to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance
Strong programming skills in C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink
Subject matter expertise in RF propagation, signal processing, track filtering, antenna design, communications, radar systems, missile/seeker, passive radar, electronic support, and/or electronic attack
Experience with modeling and simulation of weapons systems including Radar, Directed Energy Weapons, Surface-to-Air Missile Systems, RF Jammers, Missile Seekers, and/or Anti-Satellite weapons
Ability to contribute to the overall strategic planning of the modeling team
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Bachelor's Degree with 3-10 years of experience, OR
Master's with 2-8 years of experience, OR
Ph.D. with 0-6+ years of experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with threat weapon system model modeling in TMAP, ODESSA, ESAMS, AFSIM, LIVE and/or ITASE
Experience with STIMS 2.0 (Simulink), STIMS 3.0 (C++), and/or LIVE modeling frameworks/standards
Software development in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment
Experience working in an AGILE software development team
Mentoring experience
Experience designing, developing, or operating code for a distributed processing environment
Experience with working with environmental datasets and RF propagation
TS/SCI Clearance
