Position Summary
The Project Surveyor will be responsible for conducting surveys, preparing maps and reports, and providing accurate data for engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surveying techniques, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. Must have a valid driver's license.
Essential Functions
Conduct land surveys using various surveying equipment and technology, including GPS, total stations, and levels.
Prepare and maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and survey reports.
Analyze survey data to determine the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide accurate survey data for project planning and design.
Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
Use computer-aided design (CAD) and Geospatial software to create detailed maps and plans.
Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
Research legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to address any survey-related issues or concerns.

Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred or ability to obtain.
Experience:
5+ years in industry experience.
Other Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and experience with databases.
