Shift
Primary shift rotations: multiple 4‑10 hour shifts or 5‑8 hour shifts between 7:00 am–9:30 pm, Monday‑Friday. May include weekend and holiday shifts.
Job Summary
UK HealthCare seeks a compassionate, detail‑oriented Pharmacy Senior Technician II to serve UK HealthCare patients, students, faculty, staff, and community members. The role involves interacting with customers, developing strong patient relationships, and providing training and technical support for ambulatory pharmacy services. The technician handles basic pharmacy duties—filling, billing, dispensing, prescription refills, renewals, and new prescriptions—while ensuring compliance with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy law.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2 years in associated healthcare or pharmacy technician roles.
Certification: Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB PTCE or NHA ExCPT). Must be registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Education: Associate degree preferred; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Knowledge: Dependable, prioritizes tasks, and demonstrates excellent attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
Standing for >5 hours at a time; walking several miles per day; reaching items above shoulder level; lifting up to 25 lb.
Preferred Education / Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
