JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
We are searching for an
Electrical Inspector Supervisor
to join our team at the Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development. If selected for this position, you will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of staff within the Building Codes electrical section, including implementation of the program’s goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. In this role, you will perform and oversee electrical plan review for projects of all types, provide technical information and guidance to staff and our customers, and conduct field inspections.
It is critical for an individual in this role to understand the importance of high quality customer service and strive to exceed the high standards and expectations set forth by our customers. Another key component of this position is regular interaction with the public, so it will be extremely important for the Electrical Inspector Supervisor to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Required Minimum Qualifications / Transferable Skills:
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, including the following:
Conducting electrical inspections, including interpreting electrical codes, regulations and policies
Reading electrical wiring diagrams and electrical construction plans
Evaluating electric materials, products and methods of installation
Certifications required at the time of hire (Note: Proof of possession of required certifications will be confirmed prior to the final offer of employment is extended to the selected candidate):
Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC)
Electrical Specialty Code Inspector (EI) ~OR~ State of Oregon A-Level Electrical Inspector
A minimum of one (1) year of experience leading the work of others (i.e., providing daily work direction and/or scheduling, assigning work, checking completed work, and/or training)
A minimum of three (3) years of experience providing customer service by meeting customers’ needs and interacting with employees, vendors, and the public in a courteous and professional manner
Experience writing accurate and clear inspection or similar reports
Experience with general administrative and clerical procedures, including use of common computer applications, such as Microsoft Suite, as well as file management and record keeping
Experience prioritizing and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
Preferred Special Qualifications / Transferable Skills:
Supervisory experience, including assigning work, training staff, preparing and reviewing team or individual performance appraisals, correcting performance deficiencies, and recommending corrective actions
Experience evaluating materials or products per their listing and methods of installation
Experience calculating electrical loads
Experience working around high voltage installations (12,470 volts)
Experience with the Oregon Minor Label Program (Electrical)
Experience with Electrical Master Permit Program
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Must pass a post-offer physical assessment; accommodation requests will be reviewed on an individual basis in compliance with State and Federal legislation
Driving is required for County business on a regular basis or to accomplish work. Incumbents must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the County's driving policy
