Full Time Rehab Aide: 9:30am-6:00pm (Monday-Friday) Work every 4th weekend
What you will do:

Assists with routine patient care activities by setting up equipment and treatment area as directed by therapist.

Treatment areas are prepared in advance; correct equipment is obtained for patient treatment; area and equipment are cleaned after completion of therapy.

Patients are positioned and draped appropriately for treatment.

Demonstrates safety awareness in all actions and seeks assistance when needed.

Takes responsibility to seek yearly assessment of competencies as outlined in policy and procedure.

Reinforces use of assistive devices (e.g., reaches, shoehorns) during patient activities and group treatments.

Organizes and prepares therapy gyms and storage closets daily to ensure smooth patient transitions.

Assists with patient transfers and ambulation as directed by therapist; transfer techniques executed with competency and consistency with gait training.

Follows movement precautions, contraindications, and reinforces previous instructions supplied to the patient.

Adjusts gait devices correctly and/or issues them as requested by therapist.

Demonstrates proper body mechanics and safety precautions, including use of gait belt at all times.

Participates in patient transportation activities utilizing various modes of transportation and handling various types of patient equipment.

Transports patients promptly between rooms and clinical areas, as assigned or scheduled.

Demonstrates competency in transporting patients via wheelchair, ensuring leg rests and arm rests are adjusted and placed properly.

Transports patient equipment (oxygen, IV pumps, catheters, splints, etc.) to therapy sessions.

Notifies therapists of patient arrival and departure.

Demonstrates safe use of lift equipment.

Assists with group treatment sessions and gathers scheduled patients on time, ensuring equipment and therapy notes are ready.

Assists in the Rehab Dining Program as directed by Dining Room Therapy Staff.

Assists patients with personal needs during therapy, minimizing interruption and providing physical, emotional, and safety support.

Attends to patient comfort before and after treatment, providing appropriate physical and emotional support.

Respects patient modesty and dignity.

Reinforces proper technique for transfer and self‑care training.

Maintains ongoing communication with supervisor and peers; interacts with patients, family members, guests, and other contacts within and outside the hospital.

Promotes teamwork and a harmonious work environment.

Communicates courteously and effectively, avoiding emotional or defensive responses.

Reports critical incidents or patient complaints to supervisor immediately and completes incident reports per hospital standards.

Participates in daily clinical operational duties as assigned.

Creates copies of forms/schedules and other documents upon request.

Posts patient daily therapy schedules on the unit as needed.

Files documentation accurately.

Collects loaned equipment from patient rooms before discharge, notifying supervisor of missing or damaged items in a timely manner.

Handles incoming calls and monitors voice messages left for the rehab office; writes messages and directs calls to appropriate staff.

Assists in other clerical duties in the department as needed.

Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment and assists with department preparations.

Performs equipment maintenance and supply inventories.

Attends to potential hazards immediately and requests work orders appropriately.

Cleans wheelchair and cushions after each use and at discharge.

Performs daily and monthly maintenance checks, updating logs.

Removes outdated items from the therapy refrigerator weekly.

Maintains linen stock and supplies daily.

Completes clinical inventory monthly and notifies PAI Coordinator of missing or broken equipment.

Participates in departmental educational activities and promotes educational growth.

Attends all pertinent meetings and educational activities without interfering with patient care.

Follows all department and hospital policies, facilitating achievement of goals.

Performs other job‑related duties within scope as requested by supervisor.

Displays willingness, responsiveness, and adaptability to change.

Utilizes spare time for work‑related activities that contribute to department needs.

Displays flexibility in all aspects of the job.

Ensures all actions meet performance improvement standards.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Previous experience in a patient care setting is preferred.
