
Dietary Manager / CDM

The Dietary Manager is responsible for partnering with the Dietician to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our home to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis, and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Dietary Department, its programs and activities
Assist in developing and maintaining written job descriptions and performance evaluations for each level of dietary personnel
Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions annually for any revisions and make necessary recommendations to the Dietician
Inspect food storage rooms, utility rooms, for upkeep and supply control
Process any changes to diets as received from nursing department
Ensure departmental compliance in food service, observe the cooking process, meal service, temperature/sanitation standards are met
Develop and manage the departmental monthly working schedule, update as needed, ensure proper personnel coverage each shift
Ensure stock levels of food/supplies are maintained at all times
Review and revise care plans and assessments as needed, but at a minimum of quarterly
Exercise budgetary and fiscal control through inventory practices, meal planning, and staff education
Qualifications
Must possess HS diploma
Must have 1 year supervisory experience
Must possess Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification
Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures; laws and regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities
Must possess Certified Dietary Manager Certification, or be able to obtain within 1 year of hire
