Job Overview

The

Inventory Control Coordinator

(Day shift, 6:00am – 2:30pm) is within our Auto/Car Care/Prestone division and is responsible for managing and scheduling inventory and keeping track of supplies to satisfy plant and customer demand. This role is located at our Alsip, Illinois facility.
The expected compensation for this position is an hourly rate of $24.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

Assist Materials Manager with ensuring all materials (labels, cartons, pallets, resin, etc.) are onsite and available for use to support production.
Back‑up to Materials Manager and/or Raw Materials Coordinator for afternoon meeting with leaders at Alsip reviewing the production schedule and make changes as necessary if materials not ready/onsite.
Receiving Coordinator’s back‑up to receive materials as needed for production.
Attend daily start‑up meetings for all shifts to contribute information for scheduling.
Primary contact for vendors Traylek, Cole Pallets, Midland, and Pratt to ensure there is coordination of key services and management provided to Alsip.
True‑up (reconcile) inventory at Alsip and Traylek.
Assist with generating, monitoring, maintaining, and updating Work Orders (WO) as needed for production and Traylek.
Primary point person for cycle count and scheduled inventories and managing day‑to‑day inventory to ensure materials required are onsite.
Coordinate and oversee the daily cycle count process to ensure inventory accuracy within the established standards.
Analyze and reconcile all variances reported from the daily cycle count process and those reported from daily operations in a timely manner.
Verify cycle counts against physical counts of all inventories including but not limited to packaging, raw and finished goods and investigate and report reasons for discrepancies.
Monitor, maintain, and update system(s) inventory related and departmental reports to always ensure inventory accuracy daily.
Be able to create and generate stock transfer from plant to plant (STO) and stock transfer from Alsip to Traylek back and forth (SJ).
Assist with generating Purchase Orders (PO) for materials needed for future production runs.
Reconcile all Finish Goods inventory in E1 system and Traylek system to ensure inventory accuracy daily.
Perform weekly random inventory audits as an additional tool to ensure inventory related activities and practices are being followed in accordance with all established procedures.
Identify any procedure/process trends that negatively impact inventory accuracy and communicate accordingly so proper action can be taken.
Perform necessary inventory reconciliation and adjustments for items that are due to picking or replenishing errors to ensure inventory accuracy within our system.
Run reports to determine lot control products that require disposal or testing to extend expiration dates.
Responsible for reporting any safety hazards, unsafe working conditions or suspicious activities/people to the General Manager, security, safety committee member or any management team member.
Operate the forklift to move materials to designated areas in the plant.
Qualifications

High School Degree or equivalent.
Two (2) or more years of experience in in a manufacturing facility within inventory control.
Experience with integrated/computerized manufacturing systems. JDE experience is strongly preferred.
Proficiency within Microsoft applications with a strong understanding of Excel.
Sit‑Down forklift experience required.
Excellent communication skills, well organized and a demonstrated team player.
Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, complexity and work within a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, work independently and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

The production facility is within an indoor/outdoor, industrial environment and is not climate controlled. Must be able to go up and down a forklift frequently throughout the week.
