Job Summary
The Lead Cardiac Cath Lab Technician oversees clinical, technical, and non‑technical staff to ensure efficient, quality patient care. They coordinate interdepartmental services, maintain department schedules, including ACU and cardiovascular labs, fixed hours and on‑call duties, and coordinate after‑hour cases. They also work as a Cath Lab Technician and cover for absent employees and/or the Director of Cardiovascular Services.
Responsibilities
Supervise clinical, technical, and non‑technical staff to ensure efficient patient care.
Coordinate interdepartmental services and integrate workflows.
Maintain departmental schedules, including ACU and cardiovascular labs, fixed hours and on‑call duties.
Coordinate after‑hour cases.
Serve as a Cath Lab Technician and provide coverage for absent staff or the Director of Cardiovascular Services.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a cardiovascular department that performs a variety of procedures.
Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Graduate from a cardiovascular technology (CVT) or radiologic technology (RT) certified program.
Active California Radiology Technologist (CRT) license with fluoro license and active American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) license required; alternatively RCIS or RCES.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
Knowledge of current advances in related technologies and Title 17 licensing rules.
Strong oral, written, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, handle stress, and make critical decisions.
Ability to collaborate with hospital and radiology staff.
Strong problem‑solving skills.
Effective supervision and teaching skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Foster a team environment by providing orientation and training, setting goals.
Ability to manage a diverse workforce.
Society affiliation preferred (e.g., RCIS, RCES).
