Hours:

36 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 4:45pm and Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm)

Salary:

£19,161 – £19,445 plus a holiday enhancement of £3,797 – £3,854 per annum (£26,949 – £27,349 FTE per annum)

At CWA, we pride ourselves on supporting all students, regardless of their backgrounds or personal circumstances. Our Student Mentors play a critical role in providing pastoral support and guidance to learners identified as being at high risk of disengagement or withdrawal from their studies.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to deliver effective multi‑agency support to vulnerable learners and those at risk of leaving their course.

Provide ongoing pastoral support to students throughout their studies.

Actively identify learners at risk and intervene with appropriate support strategies.

Support students to keep them engaged and successfully complete their studies.

Qualifications and Requirements

Relevant experience in a similar or related role.

Awareness of issues that are likely to impact young people’s success in education.

Commitment to continual professional development to keep knowledge and skills up to date.

Successful completion of satisfactory references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Understanding of safeguarding and compliance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, with certain exemptions.
