Key Project Requirements
Active Tennessee 3rd Class Steam Operating Engineer License (or applicable Tennessee Boiler Operator License) required
Experience operating industrial steam boilers and related utility systems
Ability to support 24/7 rotating shift coverage (8- or 12-hour shifts)
Availability to support short-term plant shutdown and cleanup operations
Job Summary
NAES is seeking licensed Boiler Operators to support short-term steam operations coverage at an industrial manufacturing facility in Memphis, Tennessee. This contract role will support continued operation of the plant’s steam systems during facility shutdown and cleanup activities. The Boiler Operator will help maintain safe and reliable boiler operations, monitor auxiliary utility systems, and support continuous 24/7 coverage while the facility winds down operations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Operate and monitor industrial steam boilers to maintain safe and continuous operation during plant shutdown activities
Monitor steam pressure, boiler performance, and supporting utility equipment including air compressors and related auxiliary systems
Perform routine rounds, operating checks, and maintain required logs and documentation
Respond to alarms, abnormal conditions, and operating issues in accordance with established procedures
Support safe startup, shutdown, and operational adjustments of boiler systems as needed
Assist with maintaining safe operating conditions for cleanup personnel and remaining plant activities
Adhere to all plant safety, environmental, and operating procedures
Job Requirements
Active Tennessee 3rd Class Steam Operating Engineer License
Prior experience operating industrial or utility steam boiler systems
Basic knowledge of boiler auxiliaries, steam systems, and air compressor operations
Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
Ability to support a short-duration assignment in a plant shutdown environment
Education / Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical training related to boiler operations or stationary engineering preferred
Prior industrial, utility plant, manufacturing, or similar steam operations experience preferred
