Industrial Maintenance Technician
The Industrial Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical and electrical systems within a high-volume industrial laundry facility. This role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous production by diagnosing and resolving issues with PLC-controlled systems, conveyors, motors, and automated equipment while strictly following all safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment, including sensors, photo eyes, and automated systems.
Diagnose issues with electrical motors, conveyor systems, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems to restore proper function.
Use precision diagnostic tools and instruments, such as multimeters and ohmmeters, to identify equipment failures and root causes.
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair, modify, or improve equipment and structures.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform corrective maintenance to minimize production downtime.
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned outages.
Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
Follow all safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and facility policies at all times during maintenance activities.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance role or similar industrial mechanic/maintenance position.
Proficiency in industrial machinery repair, including mechanical and electrical components.
Hands‑on experience with PLC troubleshooting, PLC control, PLC programming, and ladder logic.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 3‑phase power systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair conveyor systems and various types of motors.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair of related systems.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.
Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools and precision instruments such as multimeters and ohmmeters.
Mechanical problem‑solving ability with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
Experience performing welding and basic fabrication for equipment repair and improvement.
Strong communication and documentation skills to clearly record maintenance activities and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in industrial maintenance or industrial mechanic roles within a high‑volume production environment.
Experience working with automated equipment and PLC‑controlled systems in a manufacturing or processing facility.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and best practices for extending equipment life.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively to urgent maintenance needs.
