The Internal Audit team is seeking a Data Analytics & Automation Intern to support and accelerate our analytics and automation journey. This role will contribute to advancing a modern, data-driven audit function by leveraging tools such as Power BI and Python to enhance audit efficiency, strengthen risk identification, and enable more effective decision-making.

This position requires a

The ideal candidate thrives in a remote, collaborative environment and demonstrates strong ownership, accountability, and communication.

Primary Responsibilities

Support the development and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and reports used for internal audit analytics and monitoring

Assist with data extraction, transformation, and integration from multiple internal systems and data sources

Develop and maintain Power Query (M) workflows to standardize and automate data preparation processes

Apply Python to automate repetitive tasks and improve audit data workflows

Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risk indicators

Collaborate with audit team members to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Proactively communicate progress, risks, and blockers in a timely manner, particularly in a remote work environment

Provide regular, structured status updates on deliverables and timelines without requiring prompting

Demonstrate ownership of assigned work by independently managing tasks, seeking clarification early, and driving work through completion

Identify and recommend opportunities to improve, streamline, or automate existing audit processes

Document data processes, assumptions, and methodologies to support repeatability and audit transparency

Provide support for ad hoc data requests and special projects

Basic Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

US Citizenship is required

Experience with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation)

Hands‑on experience developing Power BI solutions, including data modeling, DAX measures, and Power Query (M) transformations

Hands‑on experience developing Python‑based solutions for data analysis, transformation, or automation (e.g., using pandas or similar libraries)

Experience applying technical skills to real‑world projects (academic, internship, or personal)

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with SQL and working with relational databases

Exposure to internal audit, risk management, or compliance concepts

Understanding of data quality, governance, or validation practices

Experience working with large or complex datasets

Experience translating business requirements into dashboards or analytical solutions

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
