
Journeyman Electrician I

Responsible for performing various tasks in maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electrical power and control systems for conveying and processing in the construction aggregates industry. This position will support our Fairfield, Kershaw and Enoree, SC locations.
Essential Functions
30% of job: Preventive Maintenance
– Inspect wiring and equipment for proper installation. Administer electrical preventive maintenance programs. Maintain electrical spare parts and supplies inventory on service vehicles and in regional storage locations.
25% of job: Technical Assistance
– Support the Regional Operations and Electrical Engineering department in providing technical assistance to all locations as requested. Competent in use of digital multi-meters, meggers, and other electronic instruments for field troubleshooting.
25% of job: Troubleshooting Power and Control Wiring & Electrical Repair
– Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems including power, controls, and motors. Document changes to field drawings.
20% of job: Manage small electrical jobs
– Schedule and monitor electrical contractors on minor projects and maintenance work.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to pass DOT physical to operate work truck.
Certifications: State Electrical license (SC requirements).
Ability to travel outside of SC to assist other locations with projects (GA/NC/VA).
Work Experience
2+ years industrial electrical experience is necessary and ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
1+ year aggregates industry experience preferred.
1+ years PLC ladder logic skill preferred.
Technical Competencies
Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Read and interpret electrical drawings.
Ability to lift and carry up to 45lbs.
Troubleshooting and repair of control and power circuits.
Ability to ensure a safe work environment.
PLC Proficiency preferred.
Project Management or Capital Projects experience.
Environment or Physical Working Conditions
Ability to work under conditions of frequent exposure to dusty conditions and the full range of weather conditions; frequently in, on, and around quarry high walls and pits; extended periods working from elevated positions or in tunnels.
