Mainline Assembler (Summer Temp - 2nd Shift)

Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Temporary Summer worker on Mainline Assembly in Britton, SD. This is a temporary hourly position with a starting wage of $17.50 per hour, depending on experience. Second shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM) provides a $1.25 shift premium per hour; first shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM) has no premium.

Position Summary
Inspects components, assembles fan clutches, paints, tests, packages and transports fan clutches and subassemblies to the finished goods area.

Responsibilities

Collect a sufficient quantity of parts and prepare for assembly to meet production schedule.

Assemble units using assembly and sales drawings and follow standard procedures, laser marking/pin stamping units as required.

Continuously perform quality checks on assembled units using inspection equipment and visual checks.

Prepare units and piece parts for painting.

Apply an even coat of protective paint to units using standard industrial spray paint equipment.

Attach all identifying labels and serial numbers, verify pin stamps, and box finished units, including hardware and literature.

Pack finished units on pallets per standard operating procedure.

Record finished goods information on the job sheet and in Oracle.

Move finished goods to the shipping area with material handling equipment.

Disassemble units that do not meet standards and replace faulty components or correct assembly errors.

Enter inspection production approvals and accurate productivity/efficiency data as required.

Check inventory levels and other production‑related tasks using the business operating system.

Access quality information, blueprints and safety information via the Horton intranet.

Rework units that fail quality control checks.

Provide training in work methods, procedures, and work instructions to employees and temporary workers.

Perform any other duties as assigned to support overall success.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is desired but not required.

Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Must be authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship will be provided.
