Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a precise and detailed individual to join our Machinist team. This role will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, programming with assistance, G-coding, and operating machine tools with guidance to create products according to engineering specifications, ensuring high quality and efficiency in a manufacturing facility. A CNC Machinist works with a team to contribute to production goals and operating various machine tools to produce precision parts and components while adhering to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is consistent, a team player, productive, and can meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
Set up and run production on all machines while managing tool conditions
Program machines with minimal complexity, learning to program at higher complexity with assistance utilizing Mazatrol and G and M codes
Follow and develop standard work for setup, inspection, and deburring
Adapt new procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment when needed
Meet or exceed production targets and quotas
Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and achieve daily and monthly targets
Setup and operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines (CNC Horizontal, CNC Vertical, CNC Turning)
Setup and operate at least one category of machines (manual machining, turning centres, milling machines, mill-turn machines, grinders, etc)
Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
Operate machines to manufacture parts, following detailed blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards
Conduct inspections to verify the accuracy and quality of finished products per ISO requirements
Identify and report defects or issues in the machinist process and necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure product quality
Monitor machine performance and adjust to maintain product quality and machine efficiency
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure parts meet specified tolerances
Perform routine maintenance on machine tools to ensure they operate effectively and safely
Troubleshoot and diagnose machine issues, making minor repairs or adjustments
Report significant machine malfunctions or maintenance requirements to the supervisor
Document inspection results in SPC data collection workbook
Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job setup, run times, and material usage
Report deviations from specifications or quality issues to the appropriate personnel
Document any issues, defects, or deviations from standard procedures
Complete production logs, work orders, and other required paperwork accurately
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years' experience in operating CNC machines in a manufaturing enviroment
Core Competencies:
Experience using various hand, pneumatic, and power tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and presses
Experience in using Precision Measuring tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Gages Etc)
Ability to read and understand the bill of materials and work instructions, blueprints, or technical drawings
Ability to problem solve, with strong verbal and written communication
Demonstrated time management skills, strategic thinking, and adaptability
Lift a maximum of 35 lbs for an individual and 70 lbs for a team lift
Test PSI limit no greater than 30,000
Preferences:
2+ years' experience in manufacturing or other fast paced operations, preferred
General computer knowledge (i.e. log on credentials (SSO), JD Edwards, and Microsoft Outlook)
Program machines with high complexity, independently utilizing Mazatrol and G and M codes.
Travel & Work Arrangements:
This position will be based at our site in Ivyland, PA no travel.
