Lift Truck Operator II - 2nd Shift
Location: Dalton, Georgia, United States, 30721
Responsibilities
Operates a man‑up truck to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
Operates gasoline‑ or electric‑powered lift trucks, forklifts, lift beams, swivel‑hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Moves pallets, skids, boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers.
Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, and replacing liquefied‑gas tanks.
Completes daily Vehicle Condition Report.
Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices.
Operates automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.
Weighs materials or products and records weight and other production data as required.
Operates and follows instructions as directed by an onboard RF unit.
Records quality and output measures and completes other necessary paperwork.
Attend job‑related training as required by supervision.
Follow all established standard operating procedures.
Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
No prior experience required.
Reads and writes in standard English and is proficient with basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
Successfully completes all required on‑the‑job, health, and environmental safety training.
Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred.
Skills
Effective team member.
Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and related support areas.
Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
Physical & Working Conditions
Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, walk, sit, and stoop.
Occasionally required to kneel and must be able to lift up to 45 pounds frequently throughout a 12‑hour shift.
Must work 12‑hour shifts, day or night, weekdays or weekends, as scheduled.
Work in a normal industrial environment with background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations.
Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and in precarious places.
Conditions may be hazardous or unpleasant due to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and noise.
Requires standing more than two‑thirds of time.
Requires regular lifting up to 100 pounds.
