Overview

The Sinclair Foundation mission is to keep higher education accessible through student scholarships and to help Sinclair remain among the nation’s leading community colleges. The Alumni Affairs Coordinator at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, plays a key role in advancing alumni engagement and annual giving efforts in support of the Sinclair Foundation’s fundraising goals. This full-time position is responsible for coordinating alumni engagement strategies that strengthen lifelong relationships with Sinclair alumni and increase alumni participation as annual donors. Working closely with the Annual and Leadership Gift Officer and Foundation colleagues, the Coordinator supports fundraising campaigns, alumni events, data tracking, and donor cultivation activities. By developing and implementing multi-year strategies, this role aims to strengthen relations with both degree and non-degree alumni residing in all 50 states, ultimately fostering a stronger connection between the College and its graduates.
The salary for this position begins at $49,701.00 and is commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities

Annual Giving and Fundraising Support : Assist with all aspects of annual giving, including donor acquisition, retention, stewardship, and campaign support to increase alumni participation in fundraising efforts
Donor Cultivation and Outreach : Conduct outreach to alumni to encourage philanthropic support, identify, and cultivate alumni donors, and refer prospects to Foundation gift officers
Budget Management : Manage allocated resources to support engagement initiatives
Data Tracking and Analysis : Utilize Raiser’s Edge CRM and other data tools to analyze trends, generate reports, and support data-driven fundraising and decision-making
Collaborative Partnerships : Work with fundraisers, faculty, staff, and volunteers to support alumni initiatives
Multi-Year Strategy Development : Create and execute engagement strategies
Communications and Storytelling : Maintain clear communication with both degree and non-degree alumni to foster pride by supporting content creation for fundraising appeals, e-newsletters, annual reports, and more
Event Planning : Coordinate and promote departmental alumni events. Plan Foundation events with a focus on alumni donor cultivation and stewardship
Fundraising Metrics and Goal Support : Monitor effectiveness of engagement efforts. Track key metrics supporting Sinclair Foundation’s annual fundraising goal of raising $1.7M from 1,250 donors and increasing alumni donor participation
Feedback Collections : Use alumni feedback to enhance initiatives
Documentation and Reporting : Maintain records and produce progress reports
Stakeholder Engagement : Engage with alumni, faculty, staff, and administrators
Knowledge Building : Understand Sinclair’s initiatives and priorities to support alumni relations
Other Related Activities : Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities

Requirements

Minimum of an associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of work experience required
Fundraising, alumni relations, advancement or prospective research experience preferred
Ability to locate, extract, consolidate, and analyze data from various sources required
Experience with a constituent relationship management software system required; experience with a fundraising database system preferred
Excellent writing, active listening, and oral communication skills required
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively required
Demonstrated attention to detail required
Evidence of problem-solving capability required
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines preferred
High level of professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required
Working understanding of utilizing websites and social media formats for obtaining information preferred
