Overview
You’ll be working for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC), a tribal government with a vibrant community. The 10‑week summer internship offers hands‑on projects, mentorship, and networking opportunities in the gaming and entertainment industry.
Each week includes cultural tours, networking events, and team activities. You’ll work on projects that protect the safety and well‑being of the community, such as improving processes, updating records, strengthening reports, and refining documentation.
Role Expectations
Your responsibilities will include:
Documenting and updating safety and emergency management protocols.
Assisting in the development and maintenance of emergency response reports.
Collaborating with community members to improve public safety procedures.
Supporting administrative tasks related to emergency management.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program relevant to emergency management or a related field.
Basic proficiency in word‑processing, spreadsheets, and other standard tools.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
