POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating customer orders, shipments, and logistics activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery in accordance with customer contracts and inventory availability. Serves as a key liaison between plants, sales, customers, and carriers to maintain inventory balance, manage transportation requirements, and minimize supply disruptions. Ensures accurate documentation, billing, reporting, and communication while supporting customer satisfaction through proactive problem resolution, forecasting, and ad hoc operational reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Order Management
Validate customer orders against contractual agreements
Enter, post, and update changes to customer orders and shipment dates
Generate and distribute product order forms
Engage with carrier network to fulfill customer demand and delivery requirements
Reporting
Send shipment notifications to customers
Prepare railroad bill of ladings
Notify railroads of all shipment and routing information
Daily reconciliation of shipment data to SAP
Post invoices on customer accounts
Produce the daily tonnage report
Perform additional ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
Plant Liaison
Serve as primary liaison between plants/terminals, sales managers, customers and carriers
Ensure proper inventory balance and continuity of customer supply
Coordinate sizing, tonnage, and amendments to product shipments
Proactively engage appropriate stakeholders to minimize impact of supply disruptions and unforeseen events
Customer and Carrier Engagement
Maintain in-depth knowledge of customer requirements for sizing, quality, and quantity relative to available inventory
Engage with customers on weekly and monthly demand forecast
Build and maintain a structured foundation for carrier performance tracking and continuous improvement
Maintain strong carrier network relationships to support customer fulfillment and service reliability
Safety
Attend safety meetings
Enforce all company, local, state and federal safety policies and procedures
Maintain Company and Federal House Keeping Standards
Training
Provide on-the-job training, as assigned
Verify on-the-job training, as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned

Extremely dependable. The time-sensitive nature of the position requires excellent attendance and complete customer focus

Knowledge of SAP, CRM, SRM, VIM, Microsoft Office, background experience with work processing, document control, administration, preparation of spreadsheets, graphs and charts and presentation skills
Ability to reach deadlines and multi-task
Advanced spelling and grammar skills, as well as phone skills and organizational skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
Will be working in an office environment
The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting
Ability to lift over 50 pounds as needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma, GED Equivalent. Associate degree in related field is a plus.
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
BA/BS degree in business administration or related field.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, utilizing SAP or similar ERP in mining, shipping, and/or heavy manufacturing environment
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:
2-4 years previous customer service experience in a mining environment.
