Asset Management M&A Associate | Washington, D.C.
Our AmLaw 100 client is seeking a 5th through 8th year associate for its Asset Management Transactions practice in Washington, D.C.

This is deal work with a regulatory edge. The group handles transactions involving asset managers, funds, broker-dealers, financial advisors, banks, insurers, and other financial services businesses, where the legal issues rarely stop at the purchase agreement.

Role Summary
You will advise on asset management M&A and investment fund transactions, including GP stakes, control transactions, joint ventures, management team spin-outs, lift-outs, carve-outs, restructurings, succession planning, and related liquidity solutions. The work also includes continuation funds, preferred equity deals, structured and synthetic secondaries, LP portfolio sales, NAV financings, strip sales, tender offers, and investment regulatory, enforcement, and compliance matters.

Candidate Profile
Candidates should have 4+ years of relevant corporate experience, with real exposure to asset management M&A, GP stakes, and control transactions. This role is built for an associate who can run core deal work, understand the commercial pressure points, and think fluently about the regulatory framework around asset managers and financial services clients.

Why This Role
Washington, D.C. gives this seat a different angle. The transactions are sophisticated, but the regulatory overlay is what makes the work especially valuable. You will be part of a practice that combines corporate execution with financial services depth, supported by a broad national and global platform. For an associate who wants more than standard sponsor M&A, this is a strong next step.

$310,000 to $420,000 for the target class years, plus potential discretionary bonus.
