JOB TITLE: Lower Sioux Housing Groundskeeper
DEPARTMENT: Lower Sioux Indian Housing Authority
REPORTS TO: Housing Director
STATUS: Seasonal/Part time
SUMMARY: Maintain grounds for Lower Sioux Indian Housing Authority rental units and parks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in grounds and maintenance work is helpful.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain Lawn, shrubs, flowers and landscaping of all rental units and parks
Rake debris and leaves
May work with large equipment including tractors, skid loaders and other maintenance equipment
Pickup any garbage or debris
Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American Cultures
Regular attendance necessary.
Regular punctuality necessary.
Available and willing to work any changes in hours on the schedule at any time during employment.
Other duties as assigned
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES
Basic knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and maintenance work
Able to operate trucks and light motorized equipment
Able to follow written and oral directions
Able to work well with others
Detailed-oriented
Team player
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to walk extensively
Able to bend and stoop repeatedly
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
