About the Role
We’re seeking a
Maintenance Technician
to perform general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our community’s interior and exterior. In this role, you’ll handle preventative maintenance, respond to resident maintenance requests, and ensure the community is safe, functional, and welcoming.
What You’ll Do
Maintain and repair community systems, including HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generators, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord systems
Perform general maintenance projects, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair
Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and efficiently
Maintain vacated rooms, including painting, cleaning, and minor repairs
Ensure common areas are properly maintained, including walls, flooring, doors, and woodwork
Maintain positive communication with local fire marshals, building inspectors, and other regulatory agencies
Assess plumbing and electrical problems and determine the best course of action
Document safety issues and physical deficiencies according to local, state, and federal guidelines
Respond appropriately to emergencies, assisting management as needed
Foster teamwork and maintain a positive impact on residents, visitors, and coworkers
Report any suspected elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or State
Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
High School Diploma or GED required
1–3 years of related experience in building maintenance or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of building systems and codes, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
Valid state driver’s license required for vehicle travel
Must meet all health requirements, including TB clearance
First Aid certification required
Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
Strong communication skills with residents, families, and team members
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
Applies common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions
Pleasant, professional, and personable demeanor
