Overview

Mastagni Holstedt, A.P.C. seeks a law clerk to support our Civil Litigation Department at our Sacramento headquarters. The Firm invites students currently enrolled in a J.D. program or a recent graduate awaiting bar results to apply.
This position is ideal for a candidate with strong legal research and writing skills and an interest in civil litigation matters. The law clerk will work closely with attorneys on active litigation matters, including those involving motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and more. We are looking for a full-time clerk.
Our clerks gain valuable legal experience through:
Substantive research and writing assignments
Participation in a wide variety of legal projects
Mentorship and work assignment supervision

Qualifications

Desired Skills:
Strong academic credentials, writing, and legal research abilities. Ability to analyze and apply legal principles and precedents to legal problems.

Responsibilities

Assist practicing attorneys with case management.
Research and analyze principles, concepts, codes, statutes, and case law.
Draft correspondence, memorandums, and legal motions to be used in court proceedings, legal negotiations, or other legal matters.
Review, analyze, and apply evidence, reports, recordings, witness interviews, or other materials.
Professionally communicate with clients, courts, defense counsel, or administrative agencies.
Attend and assist with mediation, arbitration, negotiations, client meetings, or other meetings as required.
Compensation

Base Salary: $23.00 to $28.00 an hour commensurate with experience and qualifications.
