About The Role
We’re seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in both center-based and community settings.
In this role, you’ll help individuals build independence, develop life skills, and achieve personal goals while ensuring their health, safety, and rights are always protected. DSPs play a critical role in promoting dignity, inclusion, and meaningful community engagement.
Person-Centered Support
Provide respectful, individualized support based on each person’s strengths, preferences, and needs
Assist with daily living activities, personal care, and skill development
Support community participation and social engagement
Individual Support Plans (ISP)
Implement ISP goals and support plans exactly as written
Follow Positive Behavior Support Plans; no changes without team approval
Promote independence, integration, and productivity
Health, Safety & Crisis Response
Ensure a safe environment and report any concerns
Respond to crisis situations using trained intervention techniques (e.g., OIS)
Follow all emergency procedures and contact emergency services when needed
Communication & Teamwork
Communicate updates, concerns, and ideas with the Day Support Manager
Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality support
Assist individuals with communication, social skills, and self-expression
Compliance & Documentation
Follow all government regulations, company policies, and procedures
Complete accurate, timely documentation and billing audits in MITC
Participate in required trainings (emergency preparedness, financial protocols, etc.)
Incident Reporting
Complete incident reports and progress notes in a timely and compliant manner
Assist with incident response as needed
Environment & Operations
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:30pm (Day Shift)
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the center and vehicles
Monitor supplies and communicate purchasing needs
Report vehicle maintenance issues
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Experience providing attendant care preferred
1+ year working with individuals with I/DD preferred
Familiarity with co-occurring conditions is a plus
Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to advocate for individuals while maintaining professionalism
Sound judgment in routine and crisis situations
Ability to provide personal care and skills training
Basic math and documentation skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, lifting, etc.)
Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation required
Maintain required certifications (First Aid/CPR, OIS, and annual training hours)
Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings
Must maintain current credentials to remain eligible for employment

Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual for both part-time and full-time DSPs; PTO cash-out option after 1 year
No-cost health plan for DSPs working > 26 hours/pay period; dental & vision benefits for full-time DSPs after 6 months (50% employer paid)
Pay Period: 1st and 16th of the month
