Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving residential homes within a military housing community. This role plays a critical part in providing safe, reliable, and well‑maintained housing for active‑duty service members and their families. Technicians are empowered to independently troubleshoot issues and complete repairs while adhering to safety, quality, and military installation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on residential homes, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, and building systems
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and system issues to determine appropriate repair solutions
Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance calls in a timely and professional manner
Conduct move‑in, move‑out, and routine home inspections to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory using company systems
Follow all safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and military installation regulations
Communicate effectively with residents, supervisors, and team members to ensure excellent service delivery
Assist with special projects, renovations, and community improvement initiatives as needed
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
1+ years of experience in residential, facilities, or maintenance work
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and work orders
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, climbing)
Preferred Qualifications
HVAC, electrical, or maintenance certifications
Experience working in residential housing or property management environments
Familiarity with CMMS or work‑order tracking systems
Experience working on or near military installations
EPA Universal Certification
Skills & Competencies
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Customer service mindset with professionalism and respect
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Attention to detail and quality workmanship
Commitment to safety and compliance standards
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work performed within occupied residential homes and outdoor community areas
Exposure to noise, dust, tools, equipment, and varying weather conditions
Standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting required
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
